The South Wales Coast Path

The South Wales Coast Path stretches from Swansea Bay to the English Border at Chepstow. The path is heading away from the wilder and rugged western coasts and is gentler as it reaches the Severn Estuary.

That’s not to say that this section lacks interest, with the coastal walking between Ogmore-on-sea and Barry among the best on the Welsh Coast.

While there are some overly industrial sections, there’s the opportunity to visit some of the urban centres on the coast, including Swansea, Porthcawl, Barry, Penarth, Cardiff, Newport and finally Chepstow.
